Like many charities, Off The Record Twickenham relies heavily on the support and goodwill of people in the community. As one of our Friends, you could help us to run a range of fun events and activities, while interacting with other volunteers, staff and supporters.
These activities raise money to help support the mental and emotional wellbeing of local young people. They also help to raise awareness of the valuable services we provide locally and aim to inspire others to get involved.
You could:
- Help to organise our annual Quiz and/or Christmas concert (which showcases local young people). For example, you could help source prizes for the auction of promises and raffle, prepare food, or set up and clear away at the end.
- Be part of our team at local events including St Margarets Fair and the High Tide Festival. This might involve, for example, helping to run a tombola and talking to local people about the services which OTR provides.
- Support our presence at events where we have been selected as a named charity, such as the open weekends for Eel Pie artists.
- Encourage supporters to participate in challenge events such as the Royal Parks Half Marathon or to raise money in other ways.
You will be part of a group led by the ex-Chair of Off The Record Twickenham, Sarah Simpson, and we’ll provide you with appropriate training and support when you join.
