Off The Record Twickenham is enormously grateful to the Trustees of Richmond Voluntary Fund who have decided to support us again – as one of the four charities that will benefit this year from the generosity of those in the local community who are concerned about children and young people who may be experiencing difficulties with their emotional health and well-being here in our Borough. Watch here to find out more about this year’s Voluntary Fund appeal.
Funds raised through this year’s campaign will enable Off The Record to continue supporting those young people who are coming to us now with an increasing range of issues including anxiety and depression, suicidal ideation, abuse, self-harm and eating disorders. It’s now estimated that 1 in 4 young people have a probable mental health condition.
To give you an idea of how this funding will directly support young people:
- £55 gives a young person a crisis counselling session
- £500 gives a young person a full counselling programme with an experienced counsellor
- £1,000 gives 18 young people in crisis immediate support with an experienced counsellor
About Richmond upon Thames Voluntary Fund
The Richmond upon Thames Voluntary Fund is a charitable trust, independent from the Council, that has been set up to give residents the opportunity to donate to local organisations who make a difference to the lives of vulnerable people in Richmond upon Thames.
The Fund launched at the beginning of February, at the start of Children’s Mental Health Week, with an announcement of this year’s charity beneficiaries – Off The Record, Richmond Mind, Dose of Nature, and Marble Hill Play Centres.
